The woku Shopify connector turns every paid order in your store into an automatic evaluation of the purchase experience and, if you enable it, of the products purchased. woku invites the buyer by WhatsApp or email, manages the reminders, and organizes everything into folders by store and by category. It does not modify your storefront or your checkout: it only reads the paid orders and the catalog to create the evaluations.

How it works

  1. The buyer pays for an order in your store. Shopify notifies woku that the order became paid.
  2. woku creates a woku per order that evaluates the purchase experience (with your logo or the image you configure) and stores it in your store’s folder.
  3. woku invites the buyer by WhatsApp and, if there is no response, sends reminders that escalate to email.
  4. If you enabled product evaluation, a few days later the buyer also receives an invitation to rate the products they purchased.
  5. The responses reach woku like any other review: they feed your metrics, alerts, and reports.

How to connect your store

The connector is not published in the Shopify App Store: you cannot install it by searching for it there. The only way to connect it is from woku, as described below.
1

Start the connection from woku

In Company → Integrations → Shopify, enter your store’s domain (for example mitienda.myshopify.com) and click Continue to Shopify.
2

Authorize in Shopify

Shopify shows you the authorization screen with the permissions the connector uses: reading orders, products, and customers. When you authorize, it redirects you back to admin.woku.app.
3

Connect the store to your company

woku detects the pending installation and shows you the Shopify store detected notice with your store’s domain. Click Connect to link it. At that moment woku registers the subscription to paid orders and the integration becomes active.

What you configure in woku

Once the store is connected, in Company → Integrations → Shopify you can adjust:

Customize the invitation

In the Purchase experience invitation section you can define the text of the invitation in Spanish and English and upload your own image. If you leave them empty, woku uses the default text (for example “Online purchase at My Store”) and your company’s logo.

The buyer’s experience

If the order includes a phone number, before sending the invitation woku registers the buyer as a customer of your company (and, if the order also includes an email, links the phone number to the customer for that email). This way, when the buyer responds via WhatsApp, woku recognizes them immediately without asking for their email, and their responses are associated with their customer history.

Purchase experience evaluation

For each paid order, woku creates one evaluation per order and invites the buyer with this sequence:
  • Up to 3 sends: the first at the moment of purchase, and reminders at 8 hours and at 16 hours if there is no response.
  • The first two sends go by WhatsApp (if the order has a phone number); the third escalates to email.
  • If the order has no phone number, all sends go by email. If it only has a phone number, all go by WhatsApp. If a WhatsApp send cannot go out, woku uses email as a fallback on that attempt.
  • As soon as the buyer responds, the reminders stop.
  • If there is no response after 24 hours, the invitation expires and no further attempts are made for that order.
woku sends one invitation at a time per buyer. If the same customer places several orders in a row, the invitations are queued and sent sequentially (with a one-hour pause after each response), instead of all arriving at once. Orders that wait more than 7 days in the queue are discarded so as not to invite with old data.

Product evaluation

If it is enabled, woku also schedules a survey about the products in the order, with the same retry cadence as the purchase experience (up to 3 sends, closing 24 hours after the first), with these differences:
  • Each product has one shared woku: all feedback from all buyers of that product accumulates in the same evaluation, identified by the Shopify product.
  • If the order has more than one distinct product, woku groups the evaluations into a Flow (a single invitation that goes through all the products), sent by email.
  • If the order has a single product, the first invitation goes by WhatsApp and email at the same time.
  • The initial send goes out the configured days after the purchase (default 7), between 10:00 and 12:00 the store’s local time, to allow time for the order to arrive.

What order data woku uses

To create and send the evaluations, woku queries the order in Shopify and uses:
  • Order identification: number and identifier, to link each evaluation with its order (they are kept as queryable trackers in woku: shopify_order_id, shopify_shop_domain, and shopify_product_id).
  • Buyer contact: the email and phone number associated with the order and its addresses. If the order does not include a direct contact, woku uses the one from the buyer’s profile in the store, hence the customer read permission. The phone number is normalized to international format for WhatsApp.
  • Purchased products: name, image (that of the purchased variant or, failing that, the product’s featured image), collection, and product type, to create the product wokus and organize them into folders.
  • Store time zone, to respect the send window for the product survey.
The connector requires the order to have at least one contact detail. If the order has neither phone number nor email, the evaluation is still created in woku but no invitation is sent.

Folder organization

woku automatically creates this structure in your company:
The root folder takes the name of your store. The product subfolders follow the configured strategy (collection or product type); if a product has neither, it goes to Other products. The folders are reused across orders: they are not duplicated.

Frequently asked questions

You have two paths and both remove the connection and its credentials:
  • In woku: Company → Integrations → Shopify → Disconnect.
  • In Shopify: uninstall the app from your store’s admin. Shopify notifies woku and the connection is removed automatically.
In both cases, the wokus and responses already created are kept in your account.
Yes. Repeat the connection flow from Company → Integrations → Shopify by entering your store’s domain. The existing folders and wokus are reused: new orders are added where they were.
All sends for that order go by email, including the reminders. WhatsApp is only used when the order has a usable phone number.
No. woku deduplicates by order: even if Shopify retries the notification, each order generates a single purchase experience evaluation and a single product survey.
Enable Test mode in the settings: orders still generate their evaluations in woku, but no invitation is sent. You can also review the Status section of the integration, which shows the last notification received from Shopify and the last error, if there was one.
In the language configured in the integration (Spanish or English). The evaluations are created with content in both languages, so the buyer can switch language when responding.
