# Automatic user deactivation

> Deactivation of inactive accounts with a prior notice and reactivation by administrators

<Info>
  **Available on the Corporate plan.** This feature is part of woku's enterprise capabilities. [Talk to our sales team](https://woku.app/pricing).
</Info>

To meet access management requirements, woku
**automatically deactivates** members **without recent activity**
for a defined period, with a prior notice. The period is a
**configurable parameter** per company.

## Configuration

In the company settings, the **days until automatic deactivation**
field defines the allowed inactivity window:

* It is a **configurable parameter** per company.
* Default value: **90 days**.
* **0 disables** automatic deactivation.
* Recommended minimum: 7 days.

<Note>
  **Where it is configured.** The days until automatic deactivation
  parameter is managed as self-service from the interface, in
  **Company → Settings**, by adjusting the days until automatic
  deactivation field.

  Any value you set (including `0` to disable) takes effect
  in the next daily review.
</Note>

## How it works

* On every successful login, the user's last access date is recorded.
* A daily process reviews, for each company with the feature enabled, the
  active members:
  * **7 days before** the window is reached, a **notice** is sent.
  * When the window is **reached**, the member moves to an **inactive** state.
* An inactive member is **blocked** for that company until an
  administrator or owner reactivates them.
* Newly created accounts are not deactivated immediately: the window is
  counted from the last access or, if the user has never signed in, from the
  creation date.

<Note>
  The prior notice and the deactivation are notified to the member **within the
  application** and **by email**.
</Note>

## Reactivate a user

An administrator or owner can reactivate an inactive member, which
restores their status to active and returns their access.
