# Your WhatsApp

> Verify your WhatsApp number in woku to receive notices and surveys about your experience

When you create your account, right after confirming your email (or signing in with Google or SSO), woku offers to verify your WhatsApp. It is optional: you can do it now, later or never, and nothing in woku depends on it.

## What we use it for

woku only writes to you from its official WhatsApp number to:

* verify your number with a code;
* keep you posted and ask how woku is working for you.

## How to verify it

1. Choose your country and type your number.
2. Check **"I agree that woku may message me on WhatsApp"**.
3. Press **"Send code"**: you get a WhatsApp with a 6-digit code that expires in 10 minutes.
4. Type the code (or copy it with the button in the message) and press **"Verify"**.

If the code does not arrive, you can ask for another one after 60 seconds, up to 5 in 24 hours per account and per number. Each code accepts 5 attempts.

If you choose **"Not now"**, we will offer it once more, 30 days later. You can always add it from your profile.

> [!NOTE]
>
> A verified number can only be on one woku account.

## Change or remove it

In your profile, **Account → WhatsApp**:

* **Change**: verify another number with the same steps.
* **Remove**: deletes your number and woku stops writing to you on WhatsApp.
